I am a Handbuilder.
My work is made using pieces of clay which have been slabbed, pinched, extruded, molded or coiled–or a combination of several of these techniques.
Clay is an amazing material to work with, it is deliciously responsive to the touch. From the forming, to the drying, to the glazing and then the firing, each stage has its own set of challenges. Learning the limitations of this medium can make a difference between a beautiful work, or a pile of broken shards. But the results not anticipated can be exhilarating. Like life, every project is an opportunity to learn and grow. I love to Seize the Clay!
